Bio: Born March 26, 1971 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. DJ Willie D and his family came to Boston in October of 1978. Since 1988, Willie
D has been entertaining audiences with a variety of music. Playing at House parties and family events. In 1991, with
the help of Felix Cutillo, owner of Boston Beat Records, Willie was given his first real Latin Club gig at Las
Brisas, a Colombian Sunday Night. I worked there for 3 years before they shut down and then moved over to Rachel's @ the
Long Wharf Marriot.
El Gordito De Oro acknowledges a few people who have impacted his career: Martin Vasquez, J J Boston, Ray Torres,
Mike Mercado, D-Nice and my partner in crime DJ Rip Hernandez. DJ Willie D has performed at clubs like: M-80,
Europa, Latin Quarter @ the Roxy, El Copa @ The Palace and Noches Colombianas to name a few. "My longest stay at a club
has been a Colombian Club. I have DJ’ed at La Makina in Revere on Sundays since 1994 and still going strong. I've
also worked at Cali Pachangero and did radio work on a show called Colombia En Vivo and did A mix Show Called Saturday
Night Fiesta for La Mega 890/1400am also did some remixes for La Mega Boston.
